It is over a month since Typhoon Haiyan tore through the Philippines and left a path of devastation and chaos. Although the province of Leyte, particularly Tacloban remains devastated, the clean-up process is fully underway and the relief has filtered through. Those in need of medical treatment are now receiving it and the military are delivering much needed food and water to the Filipino people. Primary electric lines have been restored by the local electric company and major business establishments started to receive power on December 8th.

We are working closely with our Leyte employees and their families to ensure we are helping as much as we possibly can.

Where it has been appropriate, DDC have spent the last few weeks moving those people that wish to leave Leyte out to Manila. Also, for those employees where temporary relocation is not appropriate or desired, relief goods purchased with the Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund have been transported in via a dedicated plane to Leyte and to our employees.

So far, approximately 400 people (team members and their families) have been moved from Leyte to Manila. All food and shelter for these individuals once they have reached Manila is provided by The DDC Group and is not linked to the relief fund.

DDC OS has committed to a year of fundraising for the fund, and over the coming months we will be having several fund raising events, and we will continue to keep you informed.
